Dr Natalie Fraser is an experienced accredited Counselling Psychologist and Existential Coach.

Briefly put, that means I provide a safe and curious space for people who might be struggling or seeking change in their life.

Together, as a collaboration, we work together to explore what opportunities may be hidden in the darkness, and understand how this can be brought to life.

Who do you work with?

Over the past decade of my career I am grateful to have had the opportunity to provide therapy, coaching, and education in many locations around the world collaborating with clients from a wide variety of different ages, nationalities, backgrounds, gender identies and sexualities. 

I currently work online, and primarily live in the UK.

How do you see therapy?

Life is a unique and creative journey. My role is to join you on your journey for as long as you may need when things have become tough or complicated.

Working together may feel quite creative compared to more mainstream approaches, with self-compassion at the heart of it. I see therapy sessions as an opportunity for my clients to have a safe, respectful, open space where they can look at their truth from different angles without judgement.  

Together, we create a safe space to explore:

  • Who you are and who you want to become.
  • What is hurting you and how that pain can stop.
  • What influences feel good and what influences feel bad

What is your approach?

For decades psychologists have developed different ‘approaches’ to understand and support human challenges.

My approach to therapy is influenced by philosophical and psychological ideas. I respect and validate my client’s truth, and support them to gain deeper insight into what their life means to them.

I draw on my training in global existential philosophies and a vast number of different approaches exploring: identity, embodiment, our senses, relationships, attachment, evolution & development, neuroscience, gestalt, mindfulness, breathing, inner self, dreams, and imagination.

If these mean nothing to you then don’t worry – it’s taken a decade to train in them myself! Each approach offers different ideas and perspectives that may help us understand your experiences from new and helpful lenses. If you are interested, you are always welcome to ask me about these different approaches too.

Do you work with diagnosis?

I consider life to be far more complex than fitting each person into labels. I hold in mind that clinical diagnoses freaquently change as the dignostic manuals (e.g. DMS, ICD) are constantly under review, and do have training and understanding in most current psychiatric diagnoses.

I therefore work in a way that meets the client where they are in the moment to consider their past, present, and future from their perspective. 

However, I recognise the value of diagnosis offering clinicians and clients a language to understand shared experience, and work with formally diagnosed or self-identified conditions such as: anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, PTSD, CPTSD, OCD, etc. 

Please feel welcome to bring your self-diagnosis or formal diagnosis into our sessions if that is a comfortable language for you.

I am not qualified to provide formal clinical diagnoses.

I’m ashamed to go to therapy – does engaging mean that I’m “crazy” or did something wrong?

No, going to therapy does not mean you’re “crazy” not that something is “wrong” with you.

While social attitudes have evolved to become more aware and understanding about holistic health and the support on offer, the dated stereotypes and stigmas still impact people’s perpectives.

I feel passionate about fighting the stigma and shame surrounding seeking psychological support. Life can be tough, no matter who we are.

Having a dedicated professional to develop a safe space with, share the burdens of life with, and explore new perspectives with can be incredibly valuable – no matter who you are or what your context is.

How do we start working together?
  1. Email me on nataliefraser.dr@gmail.com simply saying that you might be interested in working together, with as much or little introduction as you’d like.

    Remeber: Getting in touch does not commit you to anything. But if you are curious, you are welcome to send an email, asking any questions you have, and see what naturally comes from it.
  2. If you are interested, we’ll arrange an ‘initial consultation’. This is an opprtunity for you to get to know me, and to understand what you might hope to get from working together.

    Then, if you’re interested in starting: 
  3. We find a time & day each week that works for you – normally weekly at the same time and day, however this may differ based on your needs and availability
  4. We start our online sessions exploring your experiences and enabling change at a pace that suits you.
  5. Throughout the journey we reflect on your experience helping us to decide the duration, carefully navigate changes, and establish whether your expectations are being met.

Session Format

Sessions take place online via zoom and last 50 minutes.

Typically sessions will take place at the same time on a weekly or fortnightly basis, yet this can be flexible around your schedule and preference.

Fees

Individual – £95.00
Couples – £120.00
Family – £150.00

*Fees may be subject to negocation at the discretion of Dr. Fraser
